The short answer
Website development turns a design into a working site: the pages, an editor for your content, payments and connections to your other tools. A good site loads fast on mobile, is secure, is ready for SEO, and can be edited by your own team. A typical company site takes about 4–8 weeks to build once the design is approved, and an online store often takes 8–14 weeks.
If design is the blueprint, development is the construction. Developers write code or configure a platform so pages match the design on every screen size, buttons and forms actually work, payments, couriers or LINE OA are connected, and tracking is installed. Most of this work is invisible to visitors, but it decides whether the site is fast, secure and easy to look after.
Thai businesses most often commission three kinds of build: a company site to build credibility and win leads, an online store that sells and takes payment on its own, and a landing page for an ad campaign that has to go live quickly. Each needs a different platform and timeline, so know which one you need before choosing technology.
Beyond a working site, several things should be in scope. Many businesses find out too late that they have no editor they can use, or no access to their own hosting, so they need the agency every time they want to change a photo. At The ADDs all files and code belong to the client, and we train your team to edit content from launch day.
Check that your quote covers the items below. If something is missing, ask why and whether it costs extra.
No platform is best for every business. WordPress suits content-heavy sites that need many plugins, but it needs regular updates. Webflow suits company and campaign sites that need detailed design and easy editing. Shopify suits online stores that want to start selling quickly without managing servers. Next.js or custom code suits sites that must be very fast, need special features, or connect to several internal systems.
The questions that help most are: who will edit content after launch, how often, and what will the site need to do in two or three years? If your team has no technical staff, an easy editor matters more than features you will not use. Be careful about getting locked into closed systems that are hard to leave, especially a home-made CMS that only one agency can maintain.
A well-run build starts by agreeing scope: how many pages, which features, which systems to connect, and a shared timeline. Then we build to the design with weekly progress updates, test on real devices and browsers for speed and usability, and finally go live, set up the domain and train your team.
The ranges below are typical once the design is approved. Real projects can be faster or slower depending on content readiness, how many systems need connecting and how quickly reviews happen. Moving data from an old site, such as hundreds of articles or thousands of products, often takes longer than expected, so plan for it early.
Build cost depends on the amount and complexity of work more than the page count. A 20-page site built from repeated templates may be quicker than an 8-page site with a price calculator, booking system or accounting integration. Count the yearly running costs too: domain, hosting, platform subscriptions, paid plugins and maintenance.
When you have several quotes, compare them line by line: is data migration included, tracking setup, testing, support after launch? A much lower price often means something is missing, which turns into extra cost later.
Core Web Vitals are the metrics Google uses to judge user experience. There are three: LCP, how fast the main content appears (aim for 2.5 seconds or less); INP, how quickly the page responds to a tap (200 milliseconds or less); and CLS, whether the layout jumps around while loading (0.1 or less). According to HTTP Archive’s 2025 Web Almanac, fewer than half of mobile sites pass all three.
Speed is not just about Google rankings. It affects sales directly. A study commissioned by Google and run by Deloitte found that retail sites whose mobile load time improved by just 0.1 seconds saw a clear rise in conversions. That is why we aim for a mobile PageSpeed score of 90 or more, by compressing images, loading only the Thai font weights you need, cutting third-party scripts and using a CDN.
Besides the portfolio, open sites they have built on your own phone and test them in Google’s free PageSpeed Insights. You will see straight away whether they are really fast. Ask too who handles problems after launch, how you reach them, and how quickly they reply.
Warning signs include refusing to give you admin or hosting access, no written scope, or promising first-page Google rankings within a short time, which nobody can honestly guarantee.
Today’s sites need to be easy to read for people and machines. AI tools such as ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews draw on sites with clean HTML, properly ordered headings and schema such as Organization, Product, FAQ or LocalBusiness. Building the right structure from the start helps both classic SEO and being cited in AI answers.
For Thai businesses, some connections are expected on almost every site: form leads sent straight to the sales team’s LINE, PromptPay QR and card payments, Pixel and Conversion API so ad sales are measured more accurately, and PDPA compliance through a cookie banner that actually works, meaning tracking scripts do not load until the user agrees.
WordPress suits sites with lots of articles or news, has a huge choice of plugins and is easy to find support for. It needs regular core and plugin updates to stay secure, and too many plugins will slow it down. If your site is design-led and rarely changes, Webflow or Next.js may suit you better. Choose based on how your team will actually use it.
Yes, and you should be able to. A good site comes with an editor for changing text, swapping images, adding articles or adding products without code. Before you hire, ask to see the editor and whether training is included. At The ADDs we train the client’s team to edit content on launch day.
Usually yes, paid yearly, and they should be registered in your company’s or your own name so you can change agencies later. Cost depends on the domain type, such as .com or .co.th, and the size of hosting or platform. Some platforms, like Shopify and Webflow, include hosting in their monthly plan.
Yes. An online store can connect to a Thai payment provider to accept PromptPay QR, credit cards and instalments. Payments are confirmed and stock is updated automatically, so customers no longer transfer money and send a slip in chat. That saves your team time and cuts errors when checking payments.
Often it can be fixed without a rebuild: compress images, remove plugins, change hosting or turn on a CDN. Start by testing in PageSpeed Insights to see where the problem is. If the site runs on a very heavy theme, old code or a platform that has not been updated in years, rebuilding on a lighter base may be better value over time.
It should be. A well-built site has readable URLs, correctly ordered headings, a meta title and description on every page, image alt text, a sitemap, schema and fast load times. That is technical SEO, and it has to be done during the build. Actually ranking still needs good content and some time.
Not if it is planned well. The key is a 301 redirect from every old URL to the matching new page, moving over all your high-traffic content, and submitting the new sitemap in Search Console after launch. Rankings may move up and down briefly, which is normal.
It is not required, but someone should handle updates, backups, domain and SSL renewals and security checks, especially for WordPress sites and online stores. Some businesses have in-house IT, others pay a monthly plan. Ask exactly what a plan includes, such as how many content changes.
Yes. When someone fills in a form, the details can go straight to your sales team’s LINE group or LINE OA, with an email as backup. Your team can reply within minutes, which matters a lot when customers are comparing several businesses at once. Whoever answers first often wins.
